70% of bachelor’s degrees awarded by independent colleges & universities are in 1 of 7 high-demand fields

Students who graduated from Michigan’s independent, non-profit colleges & universities in 2024 completed bachelor’s degrees in high-demand fields. In fact, 70% of the bachelor’s degrees awarded this past year to graduates of Michigan’s independent colleges and universities were in one of the seven fields of study shown on the graph.

The top three categories of business, nursing & health occupations, and engineering make-up 50% of total graduates from independent colleges. Students know where the jobs are, and Michigan’s independent colleges and universities deliver.
