For this workshop, MICU DE&I working group members will discuss why they feel DE&I is important on campuses. Afterwards, Whitney White, author of the 2021 publication Five Essential Competencies of Effective Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leaders will cover how to establish a solid foundation to ensure DE&I efforts are scalable and sustainable, as well as the skills needed to be an influential leader in this space. The session will close with a Q & A and resource sharing time.
