As MICU’s Fund Administrator, Rhonda oversees the highly valued and State recognized Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurers’ Fund offered as a cost-saving service to its Members. In her role, Rhonda is responsible for the development and management of the program, as well as the marketing of the program to all MICU Members not yet participating in the Fund. Prior to serving as Fund Administrator and Deputy Fund Administrator at MICU, Rhonda worked for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C.  

Rhonda graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication. She also holds a Master of Arts in Communication-Urban Studies from Michigan State University.

After completing her term on the Calvin College Alumni Board Association (2013-2016), Rhonda joined the Board of Trustees at Calvin College. In her spare time, Rhonda enjoys writing on issues impacting foster and adoptive children and families. In addition to her three books co-authored with the late Dr. Rita J. Simon, Rhonda's latest book In Their Voices: Black Americans on Transracial Adoption was named by Choice magazine as an Outstanding Academic Title. Rhonda is a recipient of the 2010 Judge John P. Steketee Adoption Hero Award from the Adoptive Family Support Network (MI). In 2017, Rhonda was awarded the Friend of Children and Youth Award from the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC).
